Meeting Jesus in Finland
July 21, 2007
Lorna went to the market for strawberries, and met Jesus along the way.
You know, as I read the gospels I'm amazed at how many encounters Jesus had with folks as he was on his way to somewhere else. He stopped. Every single time - he stopped. He meets us on the way, but we're never in the way. He's busy, but never too busy. He interupts his plans for us, but we're never an interruption to him. There's never something - or someone - more important than the person at the side of the road, calling his name.
I want to be more like Jesus.

What you write is so true. For once I was willing to be way-laid by Jesus in disguise- it was amazing and I want more opportunities too.

Living in the Maritimes the pace truly is more conducive to doing this....well, and it's kind of expected. If you head to the market, one should be open to whomever you end up bumping into.....for whatever reason. It's one of the reasons why I love living here, though whenever I go "home" to Toronto area, you can make it happen even in the busiest part of the city if you want to. When one acknowledges someone, magic happens.
ps. I posted a quote from Henri Nouwen yesterday on my blog which ties in well with you post. Thought you'd be interested.
enjoy your day.
To no one in particular, from a one-time regular at this site: My husband of nearly 25 years slipped into a coma four months ago today, then slipped into eternity four days later.
Berries or not, I'm sure I'll meet Jesus somewhere, along the way to whatever comes next. And then next.
I'm sad, but not lonely.

None of us are an accurate reflection of Jesus... me least of all.
It is so humbling to be used by Him in His work for eternity. Gives me goose bumps!
