Shameless Self-Promotion
November 20, 2006 "The Best of Today at the Mission - Year One" will soon be ready for printing by Lulu.com.
Now, I'm all about open-ness, and I'd like to invite you to join the celebration. Normally, if publishing with one of those big New York publishers, a frist-time author has to go out and get his own 'blurbs' - you know, those pithy little quotes on the back cover like, "I laughed, I cried, I felt like a kid again" - Jermaine TooCool, The LA Smog. Since I'm self-publishing I don't have to do this, but I've figured out a way that we can all have a bit of fun. Blurbfun, as it were.
That's where you come in.
I'm inviting you to write a blurb of 50 words or less that says something about this blog. Anything about this blog. Anything at all. 50 words. It's short - just a couple of sentences - so even if you've never written anything since high-school you're on an even footing with the most polished blog author. email it to me via the "contact me" link on the sidebar and away we go. You can use your real name, or screen name, or online name, or no name at all - just let me know how it should read. And please - let me include your blog address as well.
Some would call this shameless self-promotion and, of course, it is. But it's also a way to include you, and I really like that. I hope you do, too. And yes, of course - all the money raised goes to the Mission.

I'm very happy for you, RWK.
What's your deadline for this?
Today at the Mission is the story of the poet/cook in the kitchen, the pragmatist who weeps for and with those he serves.
Life in a mission - honest frustrations and time to dance, Help and kindess for those society has little kindness for,and for whom Jesus has enough.
Forgive me for not using your email, I don't think mine have been getting through for some reason.
Bene Diction & Lorna - I switched over to the new Windows Live Mail (which I now love) but I think I lost some emails along the way - which doesn't help given how slow I am at returning emails anyway. But...thanks for being patient!
peace.. and congrats!
